Talking about mysterious temples, some historical stories are often prevalent about them, but the place we are talking about today is a kund (pool) that is quite mysterious as well as connected with the faith of the people. The name of this Kund is Bhimkund which is considered a holy place among people.
Bhimkund in the Madhya Pradesh state of India is counted among the most mysterious places in the world, whose mystery has not been solved to date. The kund is associated with the Mahabharata period when the Pandava brothers were wandering in the forests with their wife Draupadi during their exile.

It is believed that one day Draupadi felt very thirsty, but there was no river or pond in the vicinity, so all the five brothers searched for water all around but the water was nowhere to be found. In such a situation, Bhima, the strongest of the five, hit the ground with his gada, and due to Bhima's attack, a very deep pit was formed in the ground and a stream of water bursting out in the depth, resulting in a pool coming into being, since then it was named Bhimkund. There is a small opening in the roof of the cave just above the kund and it is said that it was here that Bhima hit with his gada. The pool is also known as Neel Kund.
This pool is so mysterious that its real depth has not been measured and therefore, it is still unknown and a mystery. According to the people, the researchers had dived into its depth, but they could not go below 80 meters as the rivers of fast current were flowing in the depth. When the camera was inserted into Bhimkund, the researchers saw large fishes at great depths, similar to those found in the depths of the ocean. Explorers say that this kund might be connected to the deep sea. However, the depth of Bhimkund still remains a mystery to geologists.

It is surprising that standing water in one place usually gets polluted, but the water of Bhimkund has been clean for centuries. It is so clear and transparent that one can clearly see fishes swimming underneath. Several visitors bathe in the kund daily, but still, its water retains its clear turquoise color. Not only this, the water level of Bhimkund starts rising before any impending disaster occurs in the country as if there is a warning. It is believed that taking a bath in the pool cures even the most serious skin-related diseases, and no matter how thirsty you are, only three drops of it quench all the thirst.
