Everyone is fond of traveling and most people love to visit such places where there are plains surrounded by trees, flowing streams, and natural greenery. But there are many enthusiasts who like to choose some unique or exciting destinations, which sometimes prove to be quite harmful to them. In fact, there are some unsafe places in the world where it can be dangerous to go. People with weak hearts should avoid visiting these places, and among such places, one is Mount Washington. Counted among one of America's most dangerous places Mount Washington has the reputation of having the worst weather on Earth.
Mount Washington is referred to as the world's most dangerous small mountain, famous for its extreme weather conditions. It is the highest point in the Northeastern United States and a really tough climb, especially in the winter when the weather conditions turn extremely bad. The 6,288 ft high Mount Washington boasts some pretty scary figures, such as a windspeed of 372 km/h recorded at its summit on April 12, 1934. In such a strong wind, a person cannot even stand properly, walking is quite unfair to think. There have been more than 160 known deaths on Mount Washington since 1849, no wonder most are due to hypothermia and not only in winter.
The major causes of these deaths include falls, avalanches, hypothermia, and heart attacks. The summit of Mount Washington holds the world record for the fastest wind gust on Earth's surface. Although high winds aren't the only concern here, icy temperatures drop as low as -40 degrees, and frequent heavy snowfalls make this mountain a very dangerous place to stand on. Despite its modest height, 6,288 ft Mount Washington is counted as one of the deadliest peaks in the world. With the harsh conditions that humans face on Mount Everest at 29,000 feet, one can meet the same on Mount Washington just at 6,000 feet with the highest wind velocity ever recorded.
