Temples in India have always had great importance as Indian people always had a sense of reverence towards them as it should be so. These temples are a pleasant example of beauty, prosperity, and historicity, but there is also a temple in India that has buried many secrets behind its impressiveness. Everyone knows Maharashtra is a wonderful state which has Mumbai but it also has another region called Aurangabad which has a temple named "Ellora Temple" or "Kailasa Temple". Considering Lord Shiva's abode as a witness, it was built like his Mount Kailash. But who built this temple, why it was built, and how it was built, science does not have the answer to these three questions.
The temple is 300 feet long, 175 feet wide, and 100 feet high, and has been carved by cutting a large mountain rock like a craftsman makes a statue. Any construction in the world whenever it starts it always begins from the bottom as first the plinth is made, then floors are made on top of it. But this is the only temple built from top to bottom by carving a single huge rock. People believe that no modern science has been used to build it, it is made only with the help of a chisel and a hammer. With these two tools, this entire building has been prepared, which took many years. The temple has many pillars and doors as well as many sculptures or statues. But today's modern architecture could not answer how this outstanding artistry was designed.
The most amazing thing was the rocks that would have been extracted during the construction of this temple would be somewhere around 4 lakh Ton. That means 400,000 tons of solid rocks must have been dug out from that huge rock to give shape to this temple. But the baffling thing was that this debris of 4 lakh tonnes, which was the remains of this huge rock, was never found within the area of several kilometers of this temple.

Even today the architects could not understand how this temple was actually built without the help of modern machinery. Because in the period when it was built, there were neither modern machines nor any such special technology, and even in today's era, it is impossible to build such a temple in just 18 years. Chalukya and Pallava styles are seen in the wonderful carvings and architecture of this temple. The temple is now counted as the world's most stunning structure carved out of a single rock.
