The sudden appearance of creepy shadows and the echo of strange mysterious voices in the houses confirm the existence of ghosts. Since ancient times, It has been believed that the death of the physical body is not the end of the person as even after this the spirit wanders aimlessly for a long time. Ghosts are primarily present in empty wastelands and cemeteries, and some even become trapped in certain places because of their emotional attachment to those sites. There are numerous places in the world that are believed to be haunted and the Opera house is one of them.
Seeing a spirit is believed to be good luck for performers, but may not be for others. There are many such opera houses in the world, in which claims of ghosts and spirits are still made. America's Woodstock Opera House is one such haunted theater in which the spirit of a woman still exists. This opera house was running very well in the 1900s when a woman named "Elvira" was considered the best performer. She was a ballet dancer whose beauty impressed everyone. It was her dream that one day she would perform in the main lead and that too was about to happen very soon. But when the time came, the production had cast someone else in her place.
Seeing this happening, Elvira went into a deep depression, which caused her to commit suicide by jumping off the topmost tower (clock tower) of the building. Since then it is believed that her depressed ghost continues to reside in the same theater. Her favorite seat 113 in the center of the Balcony which was earlier booked for VIP guests is now reserved for Elvira.
According to eyewitnesses, seat 113 has often been seen in the down position, as if an unseen presence was sitting in it watching the rehearsal. And if any actress makes any mistake by missing a cue or singing out of key, a loud sigh of exasperation is often heard from the seat. During auditions, special attention is paid to the clock tower as many actresses fall into a state of trance and begin climbing the stairs so they can jump from the top like Elvira did.
