Scotland is a unique land of myths and legends, whose tales have always inspired artists, writers, and poets. With various mysterious creatures, haunted places, and creepy paranormal occurrences, the region leaves no stone unturned to grab someone's attention. Rich in culture and folklore, the country also serves as a favorite destination for tourists.
The world comprises many entities some of which are real and some imaginary, but some are also there that can neither be called real nor imaginary. This is because there is neither any solid proof of the existence of such entities nor can their existence be completely ruled out. These entities are so mysterious that no one has complete knowledge about them, and one such entity is Vampire. Vampires are neither fully human nor fully animal and even not fully alive. Through this story, we will inform you about two such places in Scotland that are in the possession of vampires.
Melrose Abbey Vampire
In the year 1136, a monastery named Melrose Abbey was built in Scotland, near which there exist graves of many famous kings and nobles. But despite being religious, the building is quite famous for its sinister and creepy history. In the 12th century, there lived a priest in Melrose Abbey, who was never liked by fellow priests because he was known for constantly breaking the rules. At the time of worship and prayer, he would go hunting with his pet dogs and kill animals. But one day that priest died and was buried in the adjoining cemetery.

But his end was not yet over as each night following his demise he would rise from his grave and wander the grounds. His wailing sounds would often wake up other priests from their sleep, and what was even more frightening, he would harass the sleeping nuns and drink their blood. Soon they all realized that just praying to God is not enough to pacify this vampire. One night all the priests gathered near his grave with axes in hand and as the vampire rose from his grave, they beheaded him. They cremated his body and scattered the ashes in the wind, after which these events became silent.
Lochmaben Castle Vampire
In addition, there also exist tales of vampires in Scotland's Lochmaben Castle. Professional ghost hunter Tom Robertson has spent his whole life contacting the dead, but he's never encountered something before what he saw at Lochmaben Castle. He had heard many times from the locals about a vampire residing in the woodland near this castle. When he himself came to explore the site, he started wandering into the lush, green forests near the castle ruins. He didn't expect much but soon he came face to face with this terrifying entity.

According to Robertson, he was a very tall vampire with greyish-white skin and black eyes, wearing a black hood, walking in the woods. Tom didn't have the courage to disturb him and suddenly he saw the vampire take off in the air and glided between the trees in a few seconds. Tom returned immediately from the site and later, in an interview, he warned people not to step into that area because of a vampire beast who is still slinking around there desperate for blood.
