There are some places on earth that have been considered mysterious since ancient times, such as mountainous regions. These mountains located in different corners of the world are sometimes considered to be the home of mystical creatures, and sometimes they are associated with some underground world. Some mountains are claimed to have hidden valuable treasures, while some are the abode of gods and goddesses. These remote areas are completely uninhabited for most of the year, but from time to time some mountain hikers keep coming here, during which they experience many strange occurrences.
Mount Kailash
Mount Kailash is one of the most mysterious mountains in the world, which is considered to be the center of the world and is known as the axis mundi. It is also a sacred place, believed to be the way to heaven. Kailash is standing in the remote southwest corner of Tibet where the earth meets the sky. This holy mountain is the abode of Lord Shiva. Around here many divine sages live in caves who are immortals and have their own secret society. Mount Kailash is sacred for Hindus, Buddhists, and Jains.

The law of karma has been talked about in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. According to ancient texts, if one circumambulates Mount Kailash, all his sins are destroyed and he gets a place in heaven after death. This mysterious mountain covered with golden clouds has been considered untouched till date as no one could climb Kailash even after trying a lot. Tibetan Buddhist Yogi called Milarepa is the only monk to have climbed this mountain in the 11th Century. He forewarned everyone that God is resting on Kailash, so troubling him by climbing up can bring big trouble.
In 1999, Russian scientist Muldashev decided to go on an expedition on Kailash with a team of experts. He observed the entire area while spending time at the location. According to him, Kailash is a giant man-made pyramid from ancient times that is connected directly to the pyramids of Giza. He also tried to climb the Kailash many times but every time he got failure. During that time the Russians were greatly influenced by this mountain. Russian painter and philosopher Nicholas Roerich also explored this region, during which he also made the most famous painting of Kailash, named "the Path to Kailas".

Even time travel can be witnessed on Kailash. The people who visited the holy mountain claim to have seen rapid growth, especially in nails and hair. The growth of nails and hair which would normally take about 2 weeks, here, takes place at intervals of only 12 hours. Many people set up expeditions to climb Kailash, but all of them disappeared without a trace. One of those teams reached a point in Kailash where the speed of time was very fast, and in no time they all got old and died of disease.
Some Tibetan monks claimed that strange sounds are heard from mount Kailash at night. Today this mountain is associated with the faith of many religions, serving as a very important place for them.
