It is quite common in Scotland to hear the sound of bagpipes as bagpipers have always been there, especially during any festival or celebration, they play pipes. But what if a bagpiper disappears into the air forever, something similar has happened in Scotland. Fairies play an important role in Scottish folklore as these creatures have always been present there.
According to Scottish folklore, these fairies are of different temperaments, some good-natured and some evil. They can behave friendly with you and if your behavior is good along with your luck, then it can be good luck for you. But if they don't like something about you then their anger can be very dangerous. These beings are supernatural and quite powerful as well. In Scotland, fairies are believed to reside inside natural water pools and dark caves and it is not free from danger to disturb them. There was a long stretch of Scottish region containing an underground cavern system where fairies were believed to live. The people around did not even go near this area lest the fairies get disturbed.
One day a bagpiper went inside that cave with his dog and started playing pipes loudly there. It is said that the sound of his pipes could be heard for hours and then gradually faded out and became silent. After a little while, the dog emerged from the cave with no hair left on its body. But that bagpiper never returned from the cave. Later, this underground cave was made closed as some people believed that the fairies killed that bagpiper, while some believed that they took him with them to their own world. But whatever it may be, even today while passing through that area at night the sound of pipes is claimed to be heard as if it is coming out from under the ground.
