What if a needle traveled at the speed of light to hit the earth in a hypothetic scenario? This might be making you feel that what is the big deal for a needle hitting the earth because what harm can such a small needle do to the earth? But surprisingly its consequences are horrifying. A needle with the speed of light would reach an almost infinite capacity of mass, creating the destructive force of kinetic bombardment. Because when an object moves faster, its mass increases and light is assumed to have infinite mass because of its enormous speed.
Now every person in his life must have had an injection, after which they have felt the pain of a very negligible amount for a few seconds, which is why they don't consider it so dangerous. But if the same needle hits the Earth at the speed of light, then destruction can happen to such a level that even large asteroids will be nothing in front of it. Although millions of tiny fragments of asteroids in the solar system get destroyed due to friction in the earth's atmosphere, which brings no harm to the earth. But because the speed of the needle is much more than any asteroid, so by the time earth's atmosphere takes the initiative to react to it, the needle will already reach the surface of the earth within 1/10,000 of time.

Many small or big asteroids or meteorites keep falling on our earth from time to time, due to which sometimes the damage is too large to handle. Normally the speed of a meteorite can be around 60,000 to 70,000 km/h. But the speed of light is many times faster than that, that is, 300,000 km/sec which is extremely fast. So if a needle hits the earth with the speed of light, there will be a huge explosion that will appear like a nuclear bomb and that too will be as powerful as 43 TNT nuclear bomb which is a huge amount of energy. If we compare this with any other nuclear explosion, the bomb dropped on Nagasaki had only 21 TNT, which killed about 80,000 people.

You can guess its power by the fact that the needle will go across the earth and it will have so much kinetic energy that it will shake the waves of the ocean, turning into dangerous tsunamis affecting the area of hundreds or thousands of kilometers. Not only this, but as this needle passes through the mantle and core present under the earth's crust, it will cause a huge earthquake. Even after the massive devastation, the major explosion that would have occurred would raise the temperature to a rapid level, causing the Earth to turn red.
