Many times you might have noticed that whenever any member of your family comes home after attending someone's funeral, the first thing he/she prefers to do is to take a bath without touching anything in the house. But have you ever asked your elders why it is necessary for someone to take a bath right after the funeral? And if you have asked, then you have definitely got the answer that it is considered inauspicious to come home from the crematorium without taking a bath. Even according to some superstitious people, the wandering spirit of that dead person can follow you and be near you.
Though this logic is not much digestible, but when you try to delve deeper into it and know the science behind it, you would realize that for some deep or firm reasons our ancestors actually considered it necessary to take a bath after the funeral. Because in those days there were different practices of sanitization and cleanliness. As you can imagine, when a person dies, his body loses the ability to fight against bacteria and immediately begins to decompose. And as we know the people present at the funeral stand very close to the dead body and hence they become entirely exposed to these bacteria and are advised to take a bath in a quick time.
This is the only reason why they are usually asked to take a bath immediately after the funeral and this is very much similar to today as whenever we come home from outside in this era of the corona, we are also recommended to take a bath instantly to get rid of this virus. But this advice was already given thousands of years ago by our ancestors, which was actually a great suggestion in that period of time.
