In the Arizona of the United States, the anecdote of one such giant dragon is found which is quite unique. In the year 1890, two ranchers on horseback were going from the area of the Huachuca desert towards their home. On the way, they saw a creature resembling an Alligator which was gigantic and had two wings. It seemed as if that creature was completely exhausted after a long flight, and was still able to fly but a short distance at a time. The ranchers also had rifles, and after chasing the dragon for several miles, they began to fire at it.
After flying some distance, the dragon fell to the ground as its condition was exhausted and miserable, making it unable to make any attack in return. After a few well-directed shots, the monster became seriously wounded and remained motionless. Both the ranchers cautiously approached the monster and found that it was dead. They measured the dragon from head to tail and found that it was ninety-two feet in length and its wingspan was even greater than that.

This winged monster's skin was smooth enough that bullets could easily penetrate it. Its eyes were as large as a dinner plate. They cut off a small portion of the tip of one wing and took it home with them because they wanted to send the specimen for scientific study. The men disclosed this anecdote, but after that no specimen was ever sent for study, nor was there any information about the two ranchers after the incident.
Dragons are also of great importance in Chinese and Japanese mythology. From ancient Chinese medicine to their culture and beliefs, dragons are still alive today. The Egyptians also speak of a creature named Apophis, the dragon living in the underground world. In Wales, so many people believe in the dragon that the national flag of that country also has a symbol of the dragon. Also, it is believed that dragons still exist in Wales in underground caverns which make their way out from time to time.

The folklore of this country includes the story of two dragons (one red, one white) that were found sleeping within the mountain during the construction of the king's new castle. The king attacked the dragons as they were destroying the foundation of the castle from the inside. As a result, both the dragons woke up from their sleep and started fighting. The white dragon gave up and fled, but the red dragon kept on fighting. The red dragon has been an icon in Wales ever since because it symbolizes the fearlessness of the Welsh nation.
