Jaisalmer: An ancient and beautiful city situated in the middle of the desert, whose image often remains in our mind in the form of beautiful and luxurious palaces and wonderful forts. Even the area of Suryagarh in Rajasthan is considered quite mysterious, as there are many such spots in Jaisalmer that are infamous for their ghostly activities. A sightseeing tour called Chudail Trail is also available in Suryagarh in which you are taken on a midnight drive to all the haunted spots in the surrounding area. The history of these particular places being haunted hides a painful story behind it. In history, a cruel king ruled here, and because of his cruelty, the entire region turned into a desert.
Four haunted sites have been included in this trail, one of which is the village well. It is said that the king had killed many villagers here and threw them in this well and since then this well remains cursed, and many strange and frightening sounds are often heard here. This spot is considered quite dangerous, so the trail master will not let you get off the jeep in this area. There is also a Shiva temple nearby, where there is no electricity, and here you have to carry torches or even the flashlight of your mobile would be quite enough. Here you will also get to see many Shiva Lingas, made by people who’ve seen ghosts for real.

The second spooky spot is an ancient cemetery, where people passing by at night have often seen wandering spirits. Here the scary voices of women talking and laughing are also heard. A third spot is an unmarked place, where women are believed to have died in Sati 300 to 400 years ago and whose spirits still haunt the area. Sati is a former practice in India whereby a widow threw herself onto her husband's funeral pyre. The last spot in this Chudail trail is Kuldhara village, where at that time lived a young beautiful girl (A Palwal Brahmin Girl), who was liked by almost everyone and even the king.

So in an attempt to save the girl from marrying out of her caste, the Paliwals killed the girl and left her body behind in the house. Not only this, the people of 85 villages left their ancestral homes that night to save themselves from the wrath of the king.
