In the wildernesses of the Piduru mountain range of Sri Lanka is situated the Hanuman Bodhi sanctuary, where the Mathang tribal people live, who live in isolation and do not like to be exposed to the outside world. The Mathang tribe claims that Lord Hanuman visits Sri Lanka every 41 years and blesses them with his holy appearance. Mathang tribal people are supposed to be the real descendants of Vibhishana who are still living in this particular area.
Going back into history, we come to know that Hanuman was very sad after Lord Shri Ram took Jal Samadhi, so he decided to leave the world and spend his life remembering Rama in the jungles of Sri Lanka. In those days Hanuman was absorbed in the meditation of Rama and the Mathang tribe living in the forest looked after him. When Hanuman's mind was completely absorbed in Shri Ram, then he attained the eighth and last Ashta siddhi (the eighth divine knowledge). Lord Hanuman was very pleased with the Mathang people, so he granted a boon to the Mathang tribe that he would visit them every 41 years and continue to help them progress on the spiritual path like a guru. It is believed that this trend continues even today.
According to "Mathangs" Hanuman comes to them and performs miracles, he gives spiritual knowledge to everyone and goes back after giving guidance for the next 41 years. Mathangs also keep a secret log book in which they write down all the activities of Lord Hanuman and the previously recorded entry of this log is from 27th May 2014 when Hanuman interacted with these people for the last time. According to them, the next arrival of Hanuman Ji will be in 2055.
Setuu is an organization that is doing research on Ramayana and they have also found many strong evidences of Ramayana. This organization is engaged in examining the log book of the Mathang Tribe. They says that people used to be very pure in Ramayana Kaal, but as the ages passed, people were not pure enough to see Hanuman. But the Mathang tribe has always been away from the outside world and hence those people are still the same as they used to be at that time. It is believed that this tribe can communicate with the animals and birds living in the forest, according to them, these animals and birds also get the Darshan (an opportunity of seeing a holy person) of Lord Hanuman.
According to Setuu organization, if a person wants to have Darshan of Hanuman Ji, then he has to follow some strict rules. That person has to worship Lord Hanuman in the forest for a year without contact with outsiders and his spirit ought to be profoundly associated with Lord Hanuman. Then some secret questions are asked to that seeker by the Setuu's experts. After answering if the person is found completely correct, he is allowed to go to the spot and meet Lord Hanuman.
