You must have often seen ants moving in a group and you would also know that when an intruder attacks the ants, forming a group these ants always try hard to prevent their colony from being invaded. Like most ants, the worker ants also do the same, when an invader attacks their nest or colony, they in turn attack them simultaneously aggressively. But when they feel that the enemy is more powerful and they are unable to get victory over them, then these ants blast themselves like a bomb by turning into suicide bombers. As a result, the sticky toxic fluid that is released out from their abdomens is enough to kill their enemy or drive them away. In this way, some ants save the life of their group or colony by committing suicide or performing the ultimate act of self-sacrifice.
The researchers named these ants as exploding ants, taking into account the self-bursting and self-suicidal nature of these ants. But even here not all the explosive ants explode themselves, only minor worker ants do so, that is, only less important worker ants protect their colony by sacrificing their lives, which is quite interesting. These exploding ants have been making this sacrifice for a long time, but this act was first documented in 1916.
