Lafayette Cemetery in Colorado has always been noted for its Vampiric Connections. Fodor Glava, an immigrant from Transylvania, settled in the US like many others for seeking a better life. But people believed that his life was very modest, and in the year 1918, he died midst of the flu epidemic. At that time, thousands of people also died from the flu. Glava was buried with the rest of the people in the municipal cemetery in Lafayette. But this grave in the northern area of Colorado soon became famous for its strange activities. It is believed that the Glava's grave was hastily carved, in which the birthplace, year of death, and a few other words were inscribed. One of these words was “trandofir”, a Romanian word for rose.

Although not much was known about Glava, but Transylvania was inscribed on his gravestone, which was quite enough to spur rumors that he was a vampire. In popular culture, Transylvania is commonly associated with vampires, so it was sufficient that tales of his being a vampire started spreading through the city. He was a tall, fair and lanky young man whose skin was white in color. According to local lore, some people tried to dig up his grave, during which they saw that his body was fresh and his teeth were long like vampires (seeming larger than normal), with blood on it. Also, they noticed that his nails were still growing.

As a result, the townspeople drove a wooden stake through his heart and reburied him. Now a big tree has grown through that grave plot which is completely different from the trees around it. Some believe that this tree originated from the same wooden stake that was inserted into the heart of the Glava, and the red roses nearby have grown due to the blood present in his fingernails. Even today rumors persist that a mysterious figure is visible to the residents at late night in this cemetery. But now the question arises, is it Glava who has come out of his grave to scare people? If the locals are to be believed then the answer is yes.
