Glue is very effective for sticking anything, as with a little quantity of glue, we can stick things together. But have you ever thought that when only a small amount of this pasty substance is capable of sticking things together, then why doesn't it stick to the inside of the bottle? Do you think this is some kind of magic? Nope! It's science. So let us tell you the complete science behind it, why the glue does not stick inside the bottle.
The white glue that is used regularly by most people is prepared from a variety of chemicals, which we call polymers, the long strands that are either sticky or stretchy. Glue makers always use the right combination of similar sticky strands to create the best glue. The white-colored glue also contains water and this water acts as a solvent. It is because of the water that this glue remains in liquid form until you want it to stick to something.
Now the question is how does anything stick with glue? When you apply glue to a piece of paper or anything, its solvent (water) evaporates into the air, and as the water evaporates, the glue dries and hardens. As a result, only sticky or stretchy polymers remain in the glue that holds things together. In this way, glue makes it possible to stick anything with it, and in science, this process is called mechanical adhesion.
But now another question arises why the glue doesn't stick to the inside of the bottle? When this glue remains inside the bottle, there is not enough air in it for the water to evaporate to make the glue sticky. You can also say that with the help of the bottle the water present in the glue is saved from being drying out. You may also have noticed that when you do not close the lid of the glue for some time, it tends to dry out, and if it is left open for a longer period of time, then all the glue dries up.
Now it comes to Super Glue which works differently and more intensely, making things stick together so quickly and firmly. As we know that when we want to stick something very quickly, we need super glue. Super glue is made from a special chemical called cyanoacrylate. When this chemical comes in contact with water vapor in the air, then a kind of chemical reaction takes place, forming the chemical bond, resulting in sticking anything very easily and very quickly. This process is scientifically called chemical adhesion.
