The History's Most Unlucky Person | The Man Who Was Struck by Lightning 4 Times

The world is progressing at its own pace, day or night, both happen at their own time, but in the meantime, if something awful and untoward happens to someone, he feels himself the most unlucky. As it is often seen that whenever something disastrous or unexpected happens to a person, he leaves it as his misfortune and started considering himself the most unlucky one. Today we are going to make you aware of one such person who is considered the unluckiest man in history. There were many such unique incidents associated with this person which were quite mysterious and were beyond the comprehension of a common man. You'll never call yourself unlucky after knowing this man's story.

Actually, the man we are talking about here is Walter Summerford, who was a British officer. Three similar mysterious incidents had happened to him, due to which he was considered 'unlucky', and not only this, the same incident happened to him even after his death.

The first tragic incident with Walter Summerford occurred in the year 1918 when he was posted in Belgium during World War I. One day he was marching on his horse when he was struck by lightning out of nowhere, leaving his body paralyzed from the hips down. But despite this, within a few months, he recovered completely and started walking, but before that, the army forcibly released him from service. 

The second incident with Walter Summerford occurred exactly six years after the first incident when he had begun his new life in Canada. In the year 1924, when he went out for fishing was again struck by lightning while sitting under a tree. This time the right side of his body was paralyzed. However, miraculously he recovered completely within two years and started walking again.

The time of the third lightning strike was in 1930, six years after the second strike, when he was taking a walk in a local park and enjoying the beautiful views but suddenly the weather turned bad, from a sunny day to a sky covered with dark clouds. Meanwhile, the thundering sky lightning fell on him. This was the third and the final time when he was struck by lightning, leaving him completely paralyzed from head to toe. But still, he fought for his life and managed to survive for two more years. But eventually, he lost the battle of life and passed away in 1932.

No rest even after death

After Walter Summerford's death, his family buried him at Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver. But astonishingly, the lightning did not leave him even after his death, and in the year 1936, once again lightning struck his grave, causing the tombstone to break. This lightning strike also took place exactly six years after the third incident, leading his family and close ones to believe that someone had cursed this man. Because how could the same event be repeated multiple times to the one person?
