Numerous road accidents took place in India every year, which leads to the death of so many people. During these accidents, most people die due to their own mistakes, while some others have to say goodbye to the world because of someone else's faults. Accidents can be caused by any reason, but the most common cause of death is simply not wearing a helmet. This means that people rarely wear helmets while riding a bike, which turns into the main cause of death. 

But there is a person named Raghavendra Kumar, who is known by the world as ‘The Helmet Man Of India' because of his unique service of distributing helmets free of cost to the people. Now you must be thinking that who is Raghavendra Kumar and why does he distribute helmets for free? So before knowing the answer, you would have to go back into the year 2014 to know the origin of the story. 

Raghavendra Kumar is originally from Bihar and in the year 2014, he lost a very close friend of his in a bike accident due to not wearing a helmet. It surely took some time for Raghavendra to emerge from this sorrow, but at the same time, he also decided that like his friend, he would not let anyone else's life end because of the helmet. Now Raghavendra stands on the road at different places and distributes helmets to the people for free of cost and also tells them its importance. In return, people also appreciate his unique work and salute his generosity.

Raghavendra says that since his friend's death, he has distributed helmets to over 49,000 people in 22 states, including Delhi, Rajashthan, Bihar, Haryana, UP, West Bengal, MP, Himachal Pradesh, and Jharkhand. He also says that doing so gives him a feeling of relief because he is making people safe. He tells that if his friend had also been wearing a helmet during the accident, he might have been with him today. So far he has spent around Rs 2 crore on the purchase of branded companies' helmets for free distribution, and to make this task possible he has already sold his 3 bighas of ancestral land and a house in Greater Noida.
