Does the snowman really exist in the Himalayas? The mention of this mythical creature has been found in Puranas, Ramayana, and Mahabharata. The Himalayas is such a place where sages have been doing penance since ancient times, so it is likely that they might have known it. In today's articles, we are going to talk about one such strange creature residing in the Himalayan ranges of Tibet and Nepal, whose name is Yeti. The story of 'Yeti', one of the world's most mysterious creatures, is told about thousands of years old, and there have also been reports of seeing them many times.
This mysterious creature has been known for centuries by different names like Snowman in India, Yeti in Nepal, Bigfoot in America, Orang Pendek in Indonesia, Yowie in Australia, and Mapinguari in Brazil. But despite this, many questions are still being raised about its existence. Similarly, many tales of yeti encounters with humans are narrated by experienced elders of the Himalayas. According to them, snowman sightings were very common in their times and this is a centuries-old history and they still exist today. Some Buddhist monasteries in Ladakh claimed to have seen the snowman 'Yeti'.
The Himalayan people believe that snowman-like creatures, which are about 10 to 12 feet long, have been living on the top of the Himalayan mountains, where the Himalayas have not yet been explored. The word Yeti is derived from Nepali dictionary which means Abominable Snowman and in Tibet Yeti is also called "Meti". The name Yeti was mentioned for the very first time in 1921 when British explorer Charles Howard-Bury observed yeti footsteps at Lhakpa La. So far many movies and documentaries have been made on Yeti, but even today no firm evidence of Yeti has been found. In 2019, the debate on this topic resurfaced again when the Indian Army had tweeted some pictures of the mysterious footprints of this mythical beast "Yeti", which has even raised people's belief in the existence of yeti.
Some scientists believe that Yeti is a giant creature, whose appearance is like monkeys, but it walks on two legs like humans. At the same time, some researchers have described Yeti, not as a human but as a crossbreed of Polar and brown bears. Exciting tales of seeing it have often been heard, although scientists are also not unanimous about this.
