Are the mermaids real? This question might have interrupted our mind so many times and it is such a creature whose stories we have always been hearing since childhood. But now this mystery has been uncovered as many such strange human babies with bodies like mermaids have been born, which has become the subject of research for doctors. According to doctors, the whole concept of the Mermaid is related to a medical condition occurring in humans called Sirenomelia. This condition is also known as Mermaid Syndrome. Due to mermaid syndrome, the upper part of the baby remains like a human, but the lower part is not fully developed and because of this the lower part looks like a mermaid's tail.
Sirenomelia is a type of birth defect in which both the legs of the baby are fused together, giving the appearance of a mermaid's tail, hence the name mermaid syndrome. Although no specific reason for Sirenomelia has been revealed so far that causes this birth effect, but genetic and environmental factors are thought to be involved in it. It is said that when the mother's umbilical cord fails to form two arteries during development in the womb, the baby's legs are unable to separate and the limbs of such babies grow by fused together. There have also been speculations behind this that it may be due to gene transfer from one person to another. In some cases, abnormality of the circulatory system and blood vessels can also be the reason.

A short time ago, a mermaid-like baby was born in Hyderabad, unfortunately, he could not survive for long. But the family and doctors of that baby were surprised to see this rare sight because it is a very rare disease, which occurs in one out of a million. Usually, this happens when the whole genes are not fully passed from one person to another and in some cases, the blood supply system or blood vessels are not fully developed.
