Apple, as sweet as this word sounds to be, the much sweeter has nature made it. Everyone loves to eat apples, but sometimes something strange happens with these apples, which causes them to turn into ghost apples. The term "ghost apple" may sound a bit strange to hear, as the story of its formation is also a bit unusual. As its name suggests, you must be thinking that ghosts have some involvement in the making of these apples, but there is nothing scary responsible for its making but a beautiful art of nature.
Ghost apples are very rare and form only in winters such as in severe cold and snowfall. In fact, due to a combination of freezing rain and prolonged sub-zero temperatures, some apples get completely covered with ice, after which the actual apple inside starts to rot. And when that apple gets completely rotten, it falls out from the bottom of the icy sphere. And what is left behind, the hollow apple of ice starts to call as a ghost apple. Now why it was named ghost apple, is a bit difficult to say.
