Lightning can be a dangerous thing, sometimes giving us a glimpse of its power by falling somewhere and causing enormous amounts of damage. It is very common for everyone to be afraid of lightning because the roar of such a loud sound of clouds can easily scare anyone and make them feel unsafe. Lightning mostly falls on tall objects like trees, towers, or buildings but unfortunately, sometimes it can also take a human being in its grip. Due to this, unfortunate victims may suffer serious injuries and may have to face severe consequences. But it probably doesn't happen very often for a person to be struck by lightning, as the chance of being hit by lightning is close to one in a million. But sometimes lightning even warns us before it hits, giving us time to get ourselves immediately indoors.
If you are standing somewhere outside during a storm and your hair starts to lift into the air on its own, run away immediately to a safe place because it means there is a huge possibility of a lightning strike. Means hair-raising effects can be a sign of lightning, but now there must be a question in your mind that what is the connection between hair standing and lightning, so there is a concept in physics called electrostatic. Those who have learned about it must have understood it. The electric charge is what makes your hair stand up. It might point out towards a bad occurrence to happen that positive charges are rising through you, reaching toward the negatively charged part of the storm. So if this ever happens, run inside the house immediately or take yourself to a safe place.

There are some other measures that you can follow to avoid being struck by lightning. It should always be remembered that some places like fields, open grounds, trees, or any tall pillars should be avoided during rains, as they are most likely to be struck by lightning, and never shelter under an isolated tree. If you are indoors and there is lightning outside, you should stay away from electrical appliances in the house. Do not stand near any metal object, avoid direct contact with the ground in bad weather, and stay on cots or beds during lightning strikes.

If somewhere you get stuck in bad weather and you can't find shelter at the right moment and meanwhile, the hair on your head becomes erect and the skin starts tingling, then understand that you can be struck by lightning. Then, immediately drop to your knees, bend forward, and put your hands over your ears while minimizing contact with the ground. This is the safest position to avoid being struck by lightning.
