Various things are always heard about the soul, as it is said that the soul is immortal, it never dies. It has no form and color, and after the destruction of the body, the soul becomes free and takes a new form with a new body. From this, one thing is clear that as long as we are alive, the soul resides within us. But now the question arises whether the soul has any shape or size, and just like all the parts of the body have a certain weight, does the soul also have some physical weight?
To find the answer to this question, an experiment was conducted on 10 April 1901 in the united states. A man named Dr. Duncan MacDougall performed this experiment and he involved four other fellow doctors in this test. He selected six patients for this experiment, among them, there were 5 male and one female patient who were very close to their death. They were placed on a specially designed weighing scale and carefully weighed before dying. But when they were weighed again after death, some reduction in their weight was found, as everyone lost some part of their weight. However, it was also worth noting that not everyone's weight was reduced equally.

In such a situation, Dr. Duncan McDougall concluded that the soul definitely has some physical weight, and specifically it weighs around 21 grams. However, this is still not fully verified and is considered a matter of debate. As a result, this experiment was named "the 21 grams experiment". Later Dr. Duncan did this kind of experiment with dogs too, but none of the dogs lost any weight after death. In this regard, Duncan said that there is a possibility that only human souls have physical weight. However, he also said that more research is still needed on this. Scientists also keep on making various kinds of discoveries and through their research, they keep trying to know what exactly happens after death and what is the secret of the soul? Although it is not possible to tell exactly right at the moment.
