Often people think of traveling forward or backward in time through the time machine, but what if you could somehow freeze the time, what would a world without time be like? Suppose, if you have such a device that can stop the time for everything else except you, then life will not be exactly as you expect. Because the situation will turn worst against your expectations, and you wouldn't catch up on sleep. Your dream of robbing the bank while no one can stop you, or cheating on an exam, wouldn't work, as circumstances would not allow you to do so. Rather you will become blind, deaf, and will unable to move a single muscle. But how can the stopping of time be so bad, let's know about it?
In physics we have learned, speed = distance/time and time = distance/Speed. So to bring time equal to 0 (0 = d / s), you have to move very fast and because we cannot go faster than the speed of light, it will not be possible to stop time without breaking the laws of physics. But putting these impossible things aside, and think for a moment that time can be stopped somehow. What will happen then, the answer is "absolutely nothing". People would stop at their current body position, the water would stop flowing and every molecule would stop in its place, and even so, you won't know that time has actually stopped because your neurons won't move.
So let's see by adding some more changes in these conditions. What if you're the only one who pressed the pause button, but it won't work well for you, not at the moment. Along with the power to stop time, there are many bad side effects too. At first, you won't see anything, that's because the stoppage of time will stop the photons, i.e. the particles of light that are usually moving at the speed of light. In addition, you won't hear anything because the sound waves will stop coming through the air to your eardrums. You may be surrounded by frozen molecules around you and can't even lift a finger. The situation will get even worse when you will realize that you are not able to access the oxygen molecule inside your lungs.
Between being blind, deaf, and suffocating, hope you would start back in time before you faint. To avoid this quick and unnecessary death, we add one more variation, this time you will be inside a bubble inside which time is still running. You can control the time of the place around you, this will make it possible for you to breathe and move. But you still can't hear any sound outside that bubble and what about seeing outside? You can move ahead and capture the light coming from every direction, but your brain probably won't be able to decode any information. Everything will disappear, so it won't be much pleasant experience.
What if instead of stopping time, you just slow it down? If you reduce the speed of light, it will shift to the field of infrared microwaves and although it will still be able to reach our eyes, but it will no longer be visible. This also applies to sound waves, they will reach frequencies below the human hearing range, so perhaps stopping time is not that practical. Maybe going back in time would be a better option.
