You might have seen whenever a car or truck does not start, people usually try to start it by pushing, which is a very common practice to observe but have you ever seen a train being pushed and started, yes it is true, such an incident has happened once in the past. Once in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, a narrow-gauge train was suddenly stopped midway through the city due to its engine failure. The reason for the failure was said to be overheating of the engine, due to which the train remained standing on the road for about an hour.
The passengers on the train waited for a long time hoping for some help from the railway side, but there was no help at all, finally, the passengers thought of doing something on their own. All the passengers got down from the train and push-start the train along with some passersby, showing the strength of manpower, and for a few meters, the train was simply pushed by the passengers.
Luckily, the passengers had to push the train for a few meters, after which the train engine, which had now cooled down, was restarted on its own with the slightest effort of the loco pilot, making it ready to proceed towards its destination. This incident points out how much force is generated while working together and when people work together and try, then the problem can be solved in spite of fewer resources.
