You probably know that there is a huge network of roads in India and many roads are interconnected with each other, and every year many new roads are being constructed continuously. But if we ask you a question that which is such a place in India where roadways or all roads come to an end, meaning which is the ending point of the roads, then what would you answer? But if you are not aware, then don't worry, let us tell you that the name of that place is Dhanushkodi, a deserted village known for being devastated by a deadly cyclone and it is in Tamilnadu state and it is also called the last end of India, and here is such a road, which is called the last road of India.
The place is located on the eastern coast of Tamil Nadu on the shores of Rameswaram Island. It is the only land border between Sri Lanka and India that exists on a sand dune in the Palk Strait, with a length of just 50 yards, making it one of the smallest towns in the world. It is counted among the unique attractions of Rameshwaram and is located around 15 km away from Rameshwaram.
The Dhanushkodi village is believed to be very mysterious and even many people consider it to be haunted. People usually prefer to visit this place during the day, but they are forcibly advised to return before the onset of night. It is strictly prohibited for anyone to stay here during the night and as the whole area is deserted, obviously, in such a situation, anyone can be frightened.
The village has not always been deserted as the people used to live here earlier and during that time, the village had churches, hospitals, post offices, and hotels, but everything ended in the terrible cyclone that took place in the year 1964, known as 1964 Rameswaram cyclone or Dhanushkodi cyclone. Due to this terrible cyclone, a passenger train carrying more than 100 passengers was completely washed away, drowning all of them in the sea, leaving the place deserted.
