Can you guess how deep man must have dug inside the earth till date? We are not here talking about a normal hole dug for personal use, but a large hole deep inside the earth for some ulterior purpose? If someone wants to know what's really placed inside the Earth, digging a hole directly beneath its crust would seem like the most efficient way to study the Earth's interior. In fact, if the Earth is treated like an egg, we wouldn't even be lucky enough to bore through its shell and even the Earth itself has a shell, known as the crust.
In some of the articles we've written in the past, we've provided great information about several mysterious holes such as Mel's Hole and the 2010 Guatemala City sinkhole. But this time we are talking about such a hole which is considered to be the deepest hole ever dug into the Earth. So the name of the deepest hole ever dug by man is Kola Superdeep Borehole which was dug by Russia in 1965, as they intended to unravel the secrets hidden in the Earth's crust. It was a scientific drilling project undertaken by the Soviet Union, aiming to drill as deep as possible into the Earth's crust.
The depth of this borehole is about 12 km but they could not dig further because every 32 meters in depth the temperature rises by 1°C. And after going up to 12 km deep inside, the temperature was so high that it was around 180 °C instead of the expected 100 °C. As a result, the drilling machines stopped working as the extremely high temperatures there turned the rock to behave slightly like plastic, making drilling nearly impossible. But What is even more mysterious is that in 1995, Russia completely sealed this borehole and now no one is allowed to go there, maybe because of some hidden secrets kept there.
The information that we provided above was released openly in the public by the scientists but there are some such things related to this hole, which was never revealed in the public. Many people believed that the hole was closed because scientists were scared that they might reach hell. Some of you will not believe this, but many believe that scientists were hearing the screams of humans from this pit and many researchers have claimed that it was the voice of the spirits living in Hell. This is definitely a mythical thing and many of you do not believe in things like heaven and hell, but just imagine whether the sound coming from such a depth of the earth makes any sense. If seen, there is no explanation for this and many also believe that the hole was closed for some mysterious reason.
