We have been reading and listening to the stories about Hell since our childhood, but do you know now our scientists have really discovered a hell planet. Yes, you are hearing it right, so what is the name of this planet and why is it called hell planet, let's know about it.
First of all, the official name of this planet is "K2-141B", which is 202 light-years away from our planet and is larger than Earth, having a mass of 5.08 Earths. Actually, it is an Exoplanet, commonly referred to as a planet that orbits a star outside our solar system or other than our sun. It is considered to be a massive rocky exoplanet, orbiting a K-type star that was first discovered by the Kepler space telescope during its K2 “Second Light” mission. Its discovery was made in 2018. Astronomers believed there are probably over 4,000 exoplanets orbiting distant stars, and at least 1,000 more are waiting for being confirmed.

Now the question is why it is called Hell Planet, the reason lies in its frightening properties and abilities, as it showers rocky rain and fire and there is no water in its ocean but the ocean is made of hot lava, hence, it is called the planet of Hell. The planet mainly exhibits its two sides as a hot lava world on one side and extreme cold on the other. Having distinct properties like magma ocean, supersonic winds, and a rock vapor atmosphere makes it the most hell-like place or structure.

As we know, planets that orbit closer to their stars are certainly much hotter than those that are far away, as in our case it is Mercury and Venus. But in some outer solar systems, there exist some such planets that orbit their stars even closer than our planet Mercury, orbiting the sun. Many of such hottest worlds are known as lava planets, as at least part of their surfaces is covered by oceans of molten magma.
