During extreme cold, we usually see that our hands, fingers, nose, and feet, or even ears get cold and might freeze as well, but even during such low temperatures, why do our eyes never get cold even if it`s freezing outside. This may be possible because the eyes do not have temperature receptors, leading to an inability to feel warmness or coldness. In winter you must have noticed that we cover every part of our body like we wear gloves in hands and socks on feet, but we never give any protection over eyes, even in any minus temperature place. Our whole body is covered except the eyes, which do not feel anything, just because of the absence of temperature receptors.
Why do our eyes never get cold even if it`s freezing outside and why do we close our eyes while sneezing?
We all know that when we sneeze we close our eyes for a second or less. But do you know why this actually happens, what is the need for it, what difference does it make if we sneeze with our eyes open? This is actually our body's evolutionary response and it has evolved over the years. See how smart our body is, which does not allow the germs coming out of our sneeze to get into our eyes. We can understand it logically that keeping our eyes open while sneezing will allow germs to enter our eyes, but our body also knows this, so it closes our eyes on its own and we cannot sneeze with our eyes open even if we want to.
