Often during any Hindu wedding ceremony, you surely have seen the bride and groom taking seven rounds around a sacred fire in marriage rituals, generally known as Saat phere or seven circumambulations, making it one of the most important features of the Hindu Wedding. These seven rounds actually bring the main part and true essence of a Vedic wedding, otherwise, the marriage is not considered genuine, as only when the bride and the groom take the 7 vows keeping the holy fire as the witness, are considered as married, and also the vows taken in each round or phera have their own significant meaning. But the question is why only seven rounds are made, why not one, two, five, eight, or any other number. If you are keenly interested in knowing the reason behind this, then let us tell you that the reason for this is very deep and entrancing.
As each round or circle means 360° and 360 is such a number that does not divide by only seven in the main numbers from 1 to 9. This means that you can divide 360 by one, two, three, four, five, six, eight, and nine, but not by seven. Therefore, Keeping this in mind always seven rounds are made so that the relationship between the bride and the groom should never be divided by anyone, ensuring that nothing can divide their relationship.
