What does someone do when he feels a strong urge to urinate, of course, he will quickly find a toilet and get the job done, no matter how many people are standing around him. But seriously, there are some guys who just can't pee with another guy standing right next to them, and many guys who have this issue definitely avoid urinating in such a situation.
An anxiety disorder named Paruresis is found in the estimated 7 percent of men, in which it happens that even if a person is standing nearby or slightly away from you, you are not able to urinate. Even though that person maintains a safe distance from you but still you will not be able to do so, as you will feel shyness of a different level. This condition is also known as Shy Bladder Syndrome. Usually, such people go to the toilet only when there is no one around.
People with this disorder usually avoid social situations, work opportunities, and travel because of the fear of urinating in public. Suppose you are in the mall and several people are using the toilet at the same time, which is usually the case in the mall, then the person who has this anxiety disorder of Paruresis will go to the toilet only when there is no one else in the toilet. But if someone other than him stays in the toilet, he will not be able to urinate.
People affected by shy bladder often prefer to go home to urinate during their lunch breaks or other breaks to avoid public toilets and then return to their work again. They always try to drink less fluids to avoid urinating too much. Sometimes during travel when there is no toilet nearby, in that situation we have to urinate in the open, so this situation becomes very difficult for people having this disorder. So if we define it in simple words, it is a type of phobia in which a person is unable to urinate when others are nearby.
