Many people have traveled in space, but do you know only three people of the world have been able to reach the depth of the ocean so far. But why? Is the deep ocean so dangerous, and how much deep the ocean really is, so let's talk about this topic in detail today.
The oceans are the largest body of saltwater, covering 71 percent of the entire Earth, but still, we have only 20 percent visible from the oceans, that is, the water we see on the surface or maybe that's not even the whole way. The remaining 80 percent of the oceans is very deep where humans have not yet reached and you cannot even imagine how much deep it really can be. 97 percent of the world's water is found in the oceans and for this reason, oceans have a great impact on our weather, temperature, and the food supply of humans, and other creatures. But despite such a large size and such a huge impact on human life, the ocean itself remains a huge mystery. But why this deep ocean has not been explored yet, well, there are many reasons behind this. There is zero visibility in the very deep depth of the ocean, that is, no natural light reaches there, due to which there is complete darkness. Also at such depth, the temperature is extremely cold as well as the pressure there is very high, more than 1,071 times the standard atmospheric pressure at sea level, which can easily crush anyone, and is not safe for humans at all.
If seen comparatively, today it has become easy to send people to space with some modern methods and if we talk about the ocean, only three people of the world have gone to the deep ocean so far. But still have not been able to explore much, because due to the intense gravitational pull of the deep ocean, it is very difficult to explore things there. Although we would never have noticed this, but do you know if you go into space, that is, above the earth's atmosphere, there the gravitation pull will be completely reduced to zero. Whereas look at the ocean, if we dive to the bottom of the Mariana trench which is about 7 miles deep, at that time the gravitational pull will be 1,000 times more than the surface, or the equivalent of having 50 jumbo jets piled on top of a person. Many explorers started making navigation charts to explore the ocean and that too 500 years ago, but it was really much more difficult to calculate how deep the ocean actually is.
But now scientists have found that the average depth of an ocean is about 12,100 feet and the deepest part of the ocean is Challenger Deep which is located beneath the western Pacific Ocean and whose depth is approximately 36,200 feet. So now you can imagine how deep this ocean will be or maybe even deeper than that. Now the next question arises as to which creatures can exist in this deepest part. So as we told you above that it is very dark in the deep ocean and the temperature is very cold, so there are many strange and terrifying creatures who survive in such rare conditions.
