Have you ever felt that whenever some people travel in trains, cars, or buses, their health starts deteriorating and they start vomiting, which we call as motion sickness? Motion sickness can grip anyone during any type of travel, whether in the air, on land, or on the water, which can bring a feeling of unease in them. This motion sickness occurs due to many reasons such as sitting in the backseat of the car, not getting enough air, and somewhere air-conditioned vehicles could also be the reason.
Motion sickness is not a serious issue and is quite common in older people, pregnant women, and children between the ages of 5 and 12. People who have migraine headaches could also have the issue of motion sickness. Motion sickness occurs only when we are in motion because the main reason for this is the imbalance of the body. Because when you are in the car, you are stable in one place and at the same time in motion with the car, due to which the brain gets confused and we start getting the problem of motion sicknesses such as dizziness, lightheadedness, or nausea. Motion sickness usually causes one's stomach to become upset and the person may also start to experience some other symptoms such as a cold sweat, headache, vomiting, and trouble maintaining balance.
Normally, we are able to maintain our balance with the help of signals sent by many parts of the body, such as ears and eyes, and some other sensory receptors in one's feet and legs tell the nervous system about which parts of the body are touching the ground. Inconsistent signals can be considered a major cause of motion sickness because when someone is in an airplane, they cannot see the turbulence but their body can feel it and this confusion for the body may lead to nausea or vomiting.
