Everyone knows about Fungus, but have you ever heard about black fungus, which is currently being affecting people across India. And what if we say that this black fungus is spreading more in covid patients and is also considered a very dangerous infection. Yes, recently covid patients or recovering patients are having this infection. There have been over 8000 cases in India so far, including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Karnataka.
It has now become one of the most rapidly spreading infections in those recovering from Covid-19 and has officially been declared an epidemic in Rajasthan and several other states. According to reports, due to this infection, many covid survivors have lost their eyesight, and that too in a very short period of time.
The black fungus infection is also known by another name mucormycosis, which is caused by a rare killer fungus called Mucor Mould that is present in the environment and found mostly on wet surfaces. If this black fungus enters the skin from any of your wounds, then it will have a normal infection, But if it enters directly through your nose, it will spread to your eyes and brain and affect you very severely.
