Nature has very vast limits that have hidden many secrets in itself which are not possible for us to believe or even imagine such scenes but it is present everywhere and does not leave a single opportunity to surprise us. Although science has touched all the heights of success, but somewhere our mother nature always remains one step ahead of science by having such stunning phenomena.
Aurora Borealis (northern lights)
Nature can not be more beautiful than this, one moment the darkness is all around at night, and the other moment, the charismatic enchanting view of colorful lights that mesmerizing the entire surrounding atmosphere, this wonderful view of nature is called northern lights or aurora borealis that are predominantly seen in high-latitude regions. Actually, northern lights are such a phenomenon of nature which is produced by the collision of charged particles emitted from the sun and gases found in the earth's atmosphere like oxygen and nitrogen, emitting such lights that we perceive as dancing lights. This phenomenon is mostly seen in Norway, Iceland, Canada, Finland, and Sweden and these lights usually extend from 80 kilometers to as high as 640 kilometers above the earth's surface. The most common aurora color is yellowish-green which is formed by the collision of oxygen and the blue color aurora is produced by the collision of nitrogen and in addition to this, the rarest aurora is of red color.
Light pillars
Light pillars WIKIPEDIA |
Like Aurora Borealis, there is another remarkable phenomenon of nature, spotted mostly in America, Canada, Russia, and other European countries during the winter days, known as the Light pillar. These beautiful lights appear to be moving from the ground to the sky, which looks like the pillars of light. This view is so amazing that for a moment someone forgets that he is a part of today's pollution-ridden world. But this phenomenon is not a divine event, scientists have found out the reason for this occurrence. According to them, these light pillars are visible in cold weather at such places where there is the presence of snow. Actually, there are small particles of ice present in our atmosphere, known as ice crystals and when some kind of light spreads in the atmosphere, the light collides with these ice particles to create a miraculous effect, due to which these light pillars are formed. This atmospheric optical phenomenon seems to be consists of a vertical beam of light that appears to extend above or below a light source. The light source can be anything whether sun or moon or any other source. But if the light source is the Sun, it is called the sun pillar or solar pillar. Actually, light pillars are quite similar to sundogs that follow the same process.
