Whenever we talk about the expensive materials, a normal person only tells the name of gold and diamonds, but can you guess that any substance can be so much more expensive, at which price you can buy at least two countries. It is a little difficult to believe this, but scientists have discovered a substance that has the highest price in the whole world and the name of this substance is Antimatter. It is a substance, in which everything in the atom is found the opposite, such as its atom contains a nucleus with a negative charge and surrounding electrons with a positive charge. Whereas in general: this does not happen because an atom is composed of a positively-charged nucleus, with a cloud of negatively-charged electrons surrounding it. Anti-electrons are called positrons which behave like electrons but have a positive charge and Antiprotons are protons with a negative charge. In modern physics, Antimatter is such a substance, which is the opposite of normal matter, consisting of the antiparticles of the corresponding particles of 'ordinary' matter. Antiparticles are produced in any environment with a sufficiently high temperature. The scientific hypothesis suggests that during the period of baryogenesis (the hypothetical physical process that took place during the early universe), when the universe was extremely hot and dense, matter and antimatter were continually produced and annihilated. Antimatter particles bind with each other to form antimatter, just as ordinary particles bind to form normal matter. For example, a positron and an antiproton can form an antihydrogen atom. According to scientists, antimatter is the most expensive substance on Earth, about $62.5 trillion a gram. Production of one milligram of positrons costs about $25 million. This is because its production is difficult and there is a higher demand for other uses of particle accelerators, a machine that uses electromagnetic fields to propel charged particles to very high speeds. Only very small amounts have ever been produced, there is currently no way of storing it. Because Antimatter cannot be stored in a container made of ordinary matter, as doing so, it reacts with any matter it touches, resulting in annihilating itself and an equal amount of the container. It requires highly sophisticated technology found at places like CERN. In 2011, CERN scientists were able to preserve antimatter atoms for approximately 17 minutes. The best security system in the world exists where it is made. Not only this, but even space agencies like NASA also have a strong security system to store it. No one can reach the antimatter except for a few special people. In the future, antimatter can be used as fuel for spacecraft to travel to other planets in space. The NASA Institute for Advanced Concepts (NIAC) is funding a team of researchers working on a new design for an antimatter-powered spaceship.
