Is it possible that the present and past are running together? Whether the present and the past can happen at the same time, it all sounds very strange in itself. But if your answer is yes, then you should know that time is a unit that can be found only in one form at a time. This means, if the present is going on then there must be some past also. But if your answer is no, then have you ever heard about Deja vu? Deja Vu is a French term that means literally as "already seen". Have you ever felt that the work you are doing for the first time feels like you have done it before? or the incident that has happened to you now, has already happened before? It is the feeling that one has lived through the present situation before.
Just think, you have gone to a new place where you have never been before, but still, you have realized that you have come to that place before, and what you're experiencing now is something you've already experienced before, then how would you react on that situation. Many of us may have experienced such situations, but why do we have such feelings. Such mysterious feelings have been named as Deja Vu.
According to a study conducted in 2004, 60% of the people in the world have experienced this mysterious experience somewhere in their life. Twenty percent of the people reported that their deja vu experiences were from dreams and forty percent of them reported their deja vu experiences from both reality and dreams. A higher number of incidents occurs in people 15 to 25 years old than in any other age group. Some people believe that the feelings arising in the Deja Vu are some memories of our previous birth which are suddenly emerged in our subconscious mind, but at that time our mind is unable to remember the details of those memories.
Some scientists say that our brain is like a computer hard disk in which different memories are stored in different parts of the brain, and sometimes these memories are stored in such an unknown folder of our brain. Due to which our conscious mind is completely forgotten about it, but still, these memories remain in our brain, the only difference is that our conscious mind has forgotten that where is that particular memory stored in the brain. And when we are living a new experience, our subconscious mind brings back those buried memories from our brain and our conscious mind starts to compare those memories with the events going on in the present. Because of this, we feel for a moment that this moment that has been going on has already been lived.
But the scientists who introduced this theory have not been able to ascertain whether the memories which have been lost in the depths of our mind are memories of this life or of another life or all of it is simply an illusion.
