You must have seen the electrical towers in many places in your town or country, but have you ever seen these electrical towers built in the shape of the human. If No, let us introduce to you a series of human shape electrical pylons known as "The Land Of Giants". Choi+Shine Architects, a Boston based firm, transformed the traditional electrical pylons into giant statues on the Icelandic landscape. Making only minor changes to the well-established steel-framed tower design, each pylon-figure is made from the same major assembled parts, and to create the pylon-figures’ appearance, it uses a library of pre-assembled joints. Inspired by the statues on Easter Island, these majestic human-shaped statues can be shaped to respond to the environment with the right gestures and postures. They stretch to gain height, crouch to increase strength and even imitate a climbing person to ascend up a hill.
