The Lofoten Islands are a spectacular part of Norway and are home to some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world. The Lofoten is an archipelago which is located north of the Arctic Circle in the county of Nordland and known for excellent fishing, nature attractions such as the northern lights and the midnight sun. The islands are connected by bridges and the E10 road that runs the length of the archipelago. The European road E10 connects the larger islands of Lofoten with bridges and undersea tunnels. The main islands are Austvågøy, Gimsøya, Vestvågøy, Moskenesøy, and Flakstadøy, The E10 road also connects Lofoten to the mainland of Norway through the Lofast road connection. Lofoten has a much milder climate at the same latitude as compared to other parts of the world. This is a result of the Gulf Stream. Between late May and mid-July, you can experience the midnight sun, while northern lights can be seen from September to mid-April. Now let's first talk about the midnight sun. Actually, it is a natural phenomenon that occurs in the summer months in places north of the Arctic Circle or south of the Antarctic Circle when at least a part of the Sun's disk is visible above the horizon 24 hours of the day. In Svolvær, the sun is continuously above the horizon ("midnight sun") from May 25 to July 17, and in the winter the sun does not rise from 4 December to 7 January. The Leknes has a midnight sun from May 26 to July 17, and in the winter the sun does not rise from December 9 to January 4.

Unstad Beach has world-class waves that attract surfers from all around the world.

Rorbu is one of the best ways to enjoy in the Lofoten Islands. Here you can enjoy staying in Rorbu, which is a brightly colored hut built on the Islands. Actually, it is a small fisherman’s cabin that has been renovated and turned into an apartment, normally located in a fishing village. The buildings are built on land, but with the one end on poles in the water, allowing easy access to vessels. Many Rorbu also provide a kitchenette and living area with one or more bedrooms. These wooden huts are very unique and beautiful attractions in the Lofoten Islands offering unique views of the area.
