Morocco is one of the few countries in the world where buildings and living conditions are quite different from the entire world, maybe this is the only reason for shooting so many movies here. Morocco has a total of nine UNESCO world heritage sites, including Ait Ben Haddou, one of the most extraordinary Kasbahs in Morocco. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. This is a traditional Mud Brick Ksar (fortified village) in Ouarzazate province and also a striking example of the architecture of southern Morocco. The village of Ait-Ben-Haddou is located on the southern slopes of the High Atlas Mountains and best known for its kasbahs. Most of the citizens attracted by tourist trade live in more modern accommodation in a village on the other side of the river. The Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou is surrounded by high walls and reinforced with corner towers, which is an example of traditional pre-Saharan habitat. Ait Ben Haddou's village sits on a hilltop and protects a series of Kasbahs and Ksour earth houses. There are half a dozen kasbahs or merchants houses inside the walls of the ksar. To one side of the village, several palm groves and trees can be spotted growing along the riverbank.

The area has been well-preserved and has been kept in good condition with the aim of bringing more tourists to the south to see the wonderful structures like Ait Benhaddou. Compared to other ksour in the area, Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou has preserved its architectural authenticity with regard to configuration and materials. If you travel this gorgeous place in the evening during sunset, then the village looks particularly spectacular at that time. To get the best photography opportunity, just remember that the sunrise is the best time to discover the golden rays that jet across the Ait Benhaddou. Photos during afternoon or sunset can also be effective, however, it is more difficult to capture. The things that are mainly popular for photographs include the Kasbahs, decorative motifs, attractive small streets and palm trees within the village. You can climb on one of the neighboring hills to take a full picture of Ait Benhaddou.
