Nubra Valley is known as the valley of flowers. Therefore, during the summers, tourists get a chance to see the pink and yellow wild roses, which grow in this area. The Nubra valley actually encompasses two valleys formed by rivers Shyok and Nubra. The Shyok River meets the Nubra to form a large valley that separates the Ladakh and Karakoram Ranges. To reach the Nubra valley, tourists must travel over the Khardung La pass from Leh town, which has an elevation 5,359 m or 17,582 ft. From Leh, a daily bus service to Nubra Valley passes over Khardungla which may also be reached by a hired car with an experienced driver or by bike. Perhaps this is the specialty or rarity of this valley. But the truth is that tourists do not consider themselves safe on the Nubra route, but still there is a different experience during the journey of this valley. The roads here are not so good or smooth for driving. The reason is that Khardung La is covered with a sheet of ice throughout the year. Border Roads Organization has been given the responsibility of maintenance of Khardung La Pass throughout the year. While traveling through Khardung La, tourists can enjoy the beautiful views of the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges.

Hundar is a sandy area or the land of sand dunes. The land of sand in the middle of the mountains gives visitors a different experience, which makes it one of the most beautiful places in the Nubra valley. People like to ride camels here. Due to not having such a population here, Hunder is considered a peaceful area. But the movement of tourists remains active here. The village of Turtuk is a region beyond Hunder that gives way to a greener region of Ladakh because of its lower altitude. Turtuk offers a safe campground with environmentally friendly infrastructure. There is a Samstanling monastery, which is situated between the Kyagar and Sumur villages. Panamik is mainly famous for its hot springs. It is situated very near the Siachen Glacier, which makes it one of the highest and coolest places in the world.
