The passion for adventure travel among the youth is growing rapidly. Bungee jumping and other adventurous activities like trekking in dangerous valleys and forests are becoming increasingly popular among the youth. Today, we are talking about such an adventurous place known as Haiku Stairs. But if you are afraid of heights, then this place can never be included in your bucket list. Haiku Stairs is a stairway of 3,922 steps in the US state of Hawaii, which carries people 2800 feet above the valley of the haiku. It is a steep hiking trail on the island of Oahu and also known as the Stairway to Heaven. It is possibly the greatest attraction on the entire island that has amazing breathtaking views all around.

However, it is illegal to climb, but still, hundreds of people come to climb stairs. In fact, the stairs were originally installed in 1942 by the US military to install antennae so that radio communication from one side to another could be done. It was a top-secret facility that was to be used to transmit radio signals to Navy ships that were then operating throughout the Pacific. To get the required height for the antennae, the Navy stretched them across Haiku Valley.

In the mid-1950s, the wooden steps were replaced with sections of metal steps and ramps totaling approximately 3,922. Haiku stairs are prohibited by the Hawaiian government due to liability issues and land access problems. A guard was also present during the day. But even with all the restrictions, it doesn’t stop the thrill seekers. Some hikers ignored the "no trespassing" signs and continued to climb. To avoid the security guard, people arrive in the early morning to see the gorgeous views here. Because this area is quite attractive and everyone wants to see the beautiful mountainous scenes here. But now people are urging the government to make it legal for the public. But the government says that maintenance of stairs will cost a lot and it will not be financially beneficial.
