And today we will talk about Oregon, another beautiful state of United States. Oregon has a great role in tourism activities in the United States. Most of its tourism depends on the state's natural features such as Oregon's lakes, forests, waterfalls, mountains, beaches, and rivers. Today we are going to add another beautiful place to our list of amazing and beautiful places, which is famous all over the world for its supernatural beauty. As we all know, there are many such waterfalls around the world that are very popular among the people because of their natural appearance, and Oregon has at least 238 waterfalls, the name of Multnomah Falls is one of them.

This 611 feet tall waterfall located in the Columbia River Gorge seems very attractive in itself. It is the tallest waterfall in the state of Oregon, which is accessible from the Historic Columbia River Highway, only 30 minutes away from Portland. The waterfall has two tiers, you can see the top part of the falls from the highway, but to see both tiers, you have to walk to the viewing area located in a carved-out opening in the rock face. But to look even closer, you have to stand on the Benson Bridge built in the middle, on which tourists can enjoy breathtaking views of both the tiers. When you will experience the power and beauty of nature closely, you will surely consider it to be a beautiful gift of nature.

Benson Bridge is named after Simon Benson, a prominent Portland businessman who was the owner of the land surrounding the falls in the early twentieth century, with a pathway, viewing bridge, and adjacent Lodge which was built in 1925 to serve the tourists who came to view the spectacular sights of the Columbia Gorge. But before his death, Benson gave Multnomah Falls to the City of Portland, which later transferred ownership to the USDA Forest Service. In 1981, the Multnomah Falls Lodge and surrounding footpaths were added to the National Register of Historic Places.

The Multnomah Falls receives more than two million visitors annually, making it the most visited natural recreation site in the U.S. Pacific Northwest.
