Peru is a beautiful country in western South America, which is full of many stunning and amazing places such as Huacachina and Machu Picchu, and many more. But today we will talk about another fascinating place in Peru, which is a canyon, named as Colca Canyon. It is a stunning natural wonder that’s twice as deep as the USA’s Grand Canyon. Machu Picchu is good, but the Colca Canyon reigns supreme at the top of their bucket lists. It is located about 160 kilometers northwest of Arequipa and known as one of Peru's top tourist destinations. Colca Canyon is an area of amazing natural beauty that has spectacular views around it. It is known as one of the deepest canyons in the world, which reaches a depth of 4,160 meters, whose depth can most easily be appreciated from the Cruz del Condor. The canyon is home to the Colca river and has become a paradise for adventure lovers since it is ideal for river running, trekking and mountain biking as well as other sports.

The Colca Valley is a colorful Andean valley which offers an incredible amount of Inca and pre-Inca stepped agricultural terraces, called andenes and the irrigation systems necessary to operate them. In this whole region, the beauty of the landscape is formed by "andenes. Colca Valley was used to be called the Valley of the Collaguas. The valley is still inhabited by people of the Collagua and the Cabana cultures. The town of Chivay is located at the midpoint of the Colca valley. Most of the visitors will want to take advantage of La Calera hot springs, 3 km outside the town. While passing between Arequipa and Chivay, there is an amazing experience of passing through a range of unique ecological zones, from desert to altiplano to dry tundra.

Andean condor is commonly referred to as the "Eternity Bird," as the bird is a symbol of long life and eternity. Colca Canyon is currently one of the best tourist destinations of Peru and is visited by people all over the world. It is Peru's third most visited tourist destination, where there are around 120,000 visitors annually.
