Miami Beach is the city lies on several man-made and natural barrier islands that are situated between the Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. It is a coastal resort city in Miami-Dade County, the most populous county in Florida. Miami is the seat of Miami-Dade County and is also the sixth most densely populated major city in the United States. South Beach is a neighborhood in the city of Miami Beach and has a nicknamed SoBe. It includes all of the barrier islands of Miami Beach south of Indian Creek. Miami Beach city is connected by bridges to mainland Miami. Actually, It is a municipality and that sounds right, even though many visitors think it is the part of Miami.
Miami Beach includes many interesting places to visit. There is a Bass Museum of Art which is a contemporary art museum in Miami Beach. Other than this, it includes Flagler Monument Island, Jewish Museum of Florida, North Beach, Wolfsonian-FIU Museum, Fontainebleau Hotel, Lincoln Road, Ocean Drive, World Erotic Art Museum Miami, Versace Mansion (Casa Casuarina), Miami Beach Botanical Garden, South Beach, South Pointe Park, Holocaust Memorial, Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theatre, Eden Roc (hotel) and Miami Beach Architectural District.
In 1979, the Art Deco Historic District of Miami Beach was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is the world's largest collection of Art Deco architecture which includes hundreds of hotels, apartments and other structures constructed between 1923 and 1943. Miami is a popular tourist destination throughout the year. The best time to visit Miami Beach is between November and April. Because the dry season occurs from November through April, when few showers, sunshine, and low humidity prevail. But the tropical rainy season runs from May to October, when showers and late day thunderstorms are common. Cycling is very popular in Miami Beach. Many residents generally enjoy cycling by taking advantage of the pedestrian-friendly streets and urban nature of Miami Beach.
