Today we will talk about one of Sri Lanka's most beautiful place, known as Ella. Ella is a beautiful place surrounded by waterfalls, greenery and hills. Actually, it is a beautiful hill-country village in the Badulla District of Uva Province. It is situated at an elevation of 1,041 metres above sea level and is approximately 200 kilometres east of Colombo. Ella has some amazing views that one hasn’t witnessed before. One of the most beautiful scenes occurs when a train passes through the mountains and the forest and gives an outstanding experience of beauty.
Due to its elevation, there is a cooler climate as compared to the lower areas around the town. This beautiful area is surrounded by hills covered with cloud forests and tea plantations. It is filled with nature all around itself because of greenery, flowers and gardens. The area has a rich biodiversity. The Ella Gap is responsible for offering wonderful views across the southern plains of Sri Lanka.

The view from the top of the Ella Rock is difficult to put in such simple words. Another attraction is Dhowa temple. It is a 2,000-year-old rock temple located on the Badulla-Bandarawela Road. It contains a 12 metres unfinished Buddha statue carved into the surrounding rock. Little Adam's Peak and Bambaragala Peak are also one of the best places to visit.
The Nine Arches Bridge is another beautiful attraction of Ella. It offers splendid views, during the train running over it. It is also called the Bridge in the Sky. It is one of the best examples of colonial-era railway construction in the country. One more beautiful location in Ella is Ravana Falls. It is a popular sightseeing attraction in Sri Lanka and currently ranks as one of the widest falls in the country.
