Taman Negara is a beautiful natural destination in Malaysia. It is the perfect place if you love rainforest and outdoor activities. It was established in 1938/1939 as the King George V National Park. But after independence, It was renamed to Taman Negara, which means "national park" in Malay. It is the world's oldest deciduous rainforest which is estimated to be more than 130 million years old. Gunung Tahan is the highest point of the Malay Peninsula; climbers can use Kuala Tahan or Merapoh as their departure point. You can start your tour from 4 pick up points – Kuala Lumpur, Jerantut, Kuala Tahan and Sg Relau. Visitors can enjoy the tropical rainforest, birdwatching or jungle trekking and the river views along the Tahan River. All visitors to the park must get permits from the Department of Wildlife and National Parks.
