One and only Frog Temple of India

India is a wonderful country, which can surprise everyone with its beautiful places and amazing culture. There are many such temples in India that are full of many mysteries, which is not the case for anyone to understand. Finding a Frog Temple in such a multicultural country is not a big deal, When there are temples for snakes, eagles, rats and even dogs then why not for a frog. There are many such temples in India where animals are worshiped. Today we are telling you about India's only such temple where a frog is worshiped. The Frog Temple in India is situated in the Oel Town of Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh. The unique Frog Temple lies at Oel town, 12 kilometres  from Lakhimpur on the route from Lakhimpur to Sitapur. It is said that this temple holds 200-years old history. It is believed that this temple was constructed to protect against natural disaster like drought and flood. It was built by the former king of Oel State. Interestingly, here the presiding god is Shiva and not the frog. However, it is the structure of the temple that makes us curious. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is built at the back of a large frog. It is the only one of its kind in India based on Manduk Tantra. It is said that once a King named Bakhat Singh was blessed by a frog. Thereafter, his life prospered and even his further generations had a good life. That's why a temple was built in the honour of that divine frog. According to Tantra, frog is a symbol of prosperity, luck and fertility. There is a strong belief among the followers. The architectural structure of this temple based on tantrism is very attractive due to its special style. Apart from Diwali in the Frog temple, devotees also come in large numbers on Maha Shivaratri. The Temple is constructed within an octagonal lotus. The Shivling installed in the temple was brought from the Banasur Prati Narmdeshwar Narmada Kund. The Oel town is around 12 km from Lakhimpur. To be here you must first come to Lakhimpur. You can go by bus or Taxi from Lakhimpur to Oel.
