Slovenia is a very beautiful country with many beautiful natural places. But Lake Bled is the most beautiful popular tourist attraction of Slovenia. When you see Lake Bled from any higher place or hill, you will be convinced that you are seeing some magical world around you. Lake Bled is located in the Julian Alps of the Upper Carniola region of northwestern Slovenia, where it adjoins the town of Bled. The lake is 35 km from Ljubljana International Airport and 55 km from the capital city, Ljubljana. There is a tiny island in the middle of lake with a church perched on its cliff. The name of the island is Bled Island. The island has several buildings, the main one being the pilgrimage church dedicated to the Assumption of Mary. The church has a 52 m tower and there is a Baroque stairway dating from 1655 with 99 stone steps leading up to the building. The church is frequently visited and weddings are held there regularly. It is a best place for those, who seeking romance on beautiful Bled Island. The lake is of mixed glacial and tectonic origin. It is 2,120 m long and 1,380 m wide, with a maximum depth of 29.5 m. The lake lies in a picturesque environment, surrounded by mountains and forests. An ancient Medieval Bled Castle stands above the lake on the north shore. The medieval castle clinging to its slopes, hugged on all sides by enormous mountains, snow-topped and covered with dark, green, ancient forests. The Zaka Valley lies at the west end of the lake.

The valley is also called the Seven Lakes Valley, although there are ten and not seven lakes in the valley. Slovenia has a number of smaller Medieval towns, which serve as important tourist attractions. Among them, the most famous are Ptuj, Škofja Loka and Piran.
