You have already heard the name of Andaman and Nicobar Islands which is located in India. It is one of the seven union territories of India. These are a group of islands at the juncture of the Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea. These islands are home to the only people who don't have contact with the other people. It comprises two island groups, the Andaman Islands and the Nicobar Islands. The total land area of these islands is approximately 8,249 km2. There are 572 Islands in the territory. It is the first Indian Union Territory. Sunset is the main attraction for the tourists here. There are only two ways to go Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Airways and Waterways. Port Blair is the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Port Blair has the only airport to reach here. Port Blair also serves as the entry point for visiting the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Air connectivity to Port Blair is available from Chennai, Kolkata, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bhubaneshwar and Vishakhapatnam. The capital of Nicobar Islands is Car Nicobar. The Andaman Islands are home to the Sentinelese people, an uncontacted people. The Sentinelese are the only people currently known to not have reached further than a Paleolithic (It is denoting the early phase of the Stone Age, lasting about 2.5 million years, when primitive stone implements were used) level of technology.
There are many islands in these groups of area. But Havelock island is one of the most beautiful island of Andaman group. It is mainly known for its dive sites and beaches. It is the largest of the islands that comprise a chain of islands to the east of Great Andaman in the Andaman Islands. It is a picturesque natural paradise with beautiful white sandy beaches, rich coral reefs and lush green forest. It is the most visited of the Andaman Islands. It's becoming popular for its beaches, laid back vibe and great scuba diving. It has an area of 113 sq. km. and is located 39 km of north-east of Port Blair. Havelock Island is named after a British general, Sir Henry Havelock, who served in India. Radhanagar Beach on the western coast, also known as Number 7 Beach, is one of the most popular beaches on Havelock and was named "Best Beach in Asia" by Time in 2004. Radhanagar Beach in Havelock Island is the main spot for watching the sunset. It also has Elephant Beach with its coral reefs. There are many high rating hotels in Havelock Island which has a direct view to the ocean and sunset from the hotel room. There is a lighthouse at the northern point of the Island, near Govinda Nagar, established in 2005. This island belongs to the Ritchie's Archipelago and is located between Peel Island and Neill Island. This island can be reached from Port Blair by government-operated ferries and private cruises. There are also helicopter services.
