Death Valley is one of the hottest desert on Earth in California, North America. It is also known as a desert Valley. Its length is 225 kilometers. Here, the temperature is up to 54 degrees Celsius in summer and in the winter nights, the temperature goes below the freezing point. Due to being surrounded by mountains from all sides, this place becomes very hot in summer. And or else, say this place is a very hot, dry and bizarre location in North America. The structure and temperature of California's Death Valley has always been astonishing to geologists. Although this entire valley is a desert but still many animals like rabbits, kangaroo and squirrels are found here. In the survey conducted in 1890, it was reported that there are 78 types of birds also found here. It has been made an extraordinary place for tourists.
The valley was named Death Valley, because in the early years of the 19th century, people who came to America to search for gold mines had to cross the valley. Due to its high temperature and drought, many people were killed during crossing the valley. Due to these terrible conditions the valley was named Death Valley. When the Valley was studied in the year 1870, many skeletons of animals and humans were found here. In 1933 this valley was declared the National Monument of America. Every year 4 to 5 lakh people visit here to see its strangeness. But more bizarre and shocking thing than this is the sliding stones of this valley. These stones are also known as Sailing Stones. In the area of this valley, stones up to 320 kg have been seen changing their places. Sailing stones, also known as sliding rocks, rolling stones, and moving rocks, are a geological phenomenon where rocks move and inscribe long tracks along a smooth valley floor without human or animal intervention. Have you ever heard before that the stones are sliding away from their places without any help. How is it possible that due to being so weighty, these stones are still able to move from their place without any external force. But it is absolutely true. But scientists believe that it happens due to high speed winds. Other scientists believe that weather conditions are responsible for strange behavior of these stones. The research done on this explains that the 90-miles per hour wind speed, nightly frozen ice and thin layers of wet clay over the surface are responsible for moving the stones.
